At the 2012 North American International Auto Show, we were given a glimpse into the future of mid-size offerings from Honda, when the Japanese automaker unveiled a concept for the 2013 Honda Accord Coupe. Ever since, spy photographers have been keeping their lenses ready to snap the first production prototype in testing, and now some shots have finally surfaced.
Specifically, recent spy shots reveal a sedan being tested. And though it's covered in automotive camouflage, it couldn't more obviously be the 2013 Honda Accord. How can we be so sure? There are certain things that even car camo can't cover entirely, and the front-end grille is one of them. The "mystery sedan" in the shots clearly boasts the same grille as the concept being shown off at the 2012 North American International Auto Show.
Of course, the tell-tale sign that the Honda being tested is the Accord is its size. Unless the Big H's only other sedan offering, the Honda Civic, had a serious growth spurt, we're likely looking at an Accord in this picture.
What we here at Honda of Bay County in Springfield, FL, are eager to know, however, is what exactly Honda may be hiding. Sure, the coupe shown off at the 2012 North American International Auto Show was a concept, but it seemed like a fairly finished one. In fact, it's really hard to imagine what else they could be hiding at this point.
That said, we wouldn't put it past Honda to still have a surprise or two in store for the 2013 Honda Accord before it arrives on our lot. And with that, we invite you to stay tuned for more on it, as well as other new Honda models.
