Honda Hybrid Cars

2019 Honda Accord Hybrid

Hybrids cars have all the same looks and features as traditional gas-powered vehicles but offer superior fuel economy. So, what are they actually capable of? To show drivers in Panama City, Springfield, and Callaway what they can do for you, Honda of Bay County looks at the lineup of Honda hybrid cars.

Benefits of Hybrids Cars

When you make the switch from gas to a hybrid vehicle, you'll be cutting back on your emissions and helping the environment. It's also a great way to save some money and make your commute or road trip more convenient. Rather than making frequent stops and spending more money on gas, you'll be able to keep going and drive further between trips to the pump.

2019 Honda Insight

Honda Accord Hybrid

The classic midsize sedan is now available with a hybrid powertrain. The Honda Accord Hybrid runs on a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors. This combination can deliver up to 212 total system horsepower. Along with the lithium-ion battery, the Honda Accord Hybrid can get up to an EPA-estimated 48 MPG city and 48 MPG highway.1

Meanwhile, the interior features the same comfortable seating and convenient features you're used to seeing in the gas-powered Honda Accord. A Bluetooth®-compatible infotainment system comes standard as well as the peace of mind you'll get from Honda Sensing®.

Honda Insight

The Honda Insight is a sporty compact sedan that boasts a sleek design and an efficient hybrid performance. It can travel up to an EPA-estimated 55 MPG city and 49 MPG highway on the LX and EX trims. To achieve this, it uses a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine, a lithium-ion battery, and an AC synchronous permanent-magnet electric motor.

Every aspect of the Honda Insight is meant to make your drive more efficient. From its grille to its streamlined body to its trunk, every curve is meant to reduce drag. There's even a flat underfloor design to improve airflow under the car.

With its outstanding fuel economy and aerodynamic design, the Honda Insight was named the 2019 2019 Green Car of the Year® by Green Car Journal.3

Clarity Honda Plug-In Hybrid

The Honda Clarity Plug-In is a different kind of hybrid. It uses the same combination as the Honda Insight with an electric motor and a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine, but also features a 17-kilowatt rechargeable battery. Overall, the system delivers excellent fuel economy by switching between gas and electric. Plus, it can deliver an exciting drive with up to 212 total system horsepower.

2019 Honda Clarity

It's easy to charge the battery overnight in your garage or on the road at a public charging station. It works with both a 120-volt or a 240-volt charger. You can also recharge the battery while you're driving thanks to its regenerative braking feature. This system sends power from the engine to the battery every time you lift your foot off the accelerator or step on the brakes.

A fully charged battery offers an all-electric driving range of up to 47 miles.4 With all three systems working together and switching off each other, the Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid can get a total driving range of up to 340 miles.4
