2018 Honda HR-V Trim Levels
What makes an SUV great is its ability to handle any type of driving situation. A compact one like the Honda HR-V is equally capable of both taking you on a road trip and commuting around Panama City, Springfield, and Callaway.
So what features and trims are available? Honda of Bay County put together this 2018 Honda HR-V trim levels review to help you decide which one has everything you’re looking for in your next SUV.
2018 Honda HR-V LX
The base trim is the 2018 Honda HR-V LX. It runs on a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine that gets up to 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque.
The engine is equipped with Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (i-VTEC) to help it get more efficient production.
The standard transmission for this trim is a 6-Speed Manual Transmission (6MT), but a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is also available for those who don’t want to manually control the gear shifts.
Inside you’ll find a 5-inch color LCD screen for your infotainment system. It features Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink for conveniently taking phone calls and streaming music. You can also sync up with a USB Audio Interface 1.5-amp port. Your music, calls, and directions will come through a 4-speaker 160-watt audio system.
Your dashboard screen also helps with your all-around awareness. The multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines shows you what’s directly behind you once you’ve shifted into reverse.
Next to your LCD screen, you’ll have illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls, plus one-touch turn indicators.
All of this sits on 17-inch alloy wheels and a drivetrain that’s available in either two-wheel drive or Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System. This detects when your front wheels lose traction and transfers extra torque to the rear wheels.
2018 Honda HR-V EX
The next trim is the 2018 Honda HR-V EX. It adds some features to make your drive more comfortable and convenient.
There’s more control available in this trim. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters let you manage when the CVT shifts. This gives you the control of a manual transmission but without needing a clutch.
Next to your steering wheel, you’ll be able to get more visibility from your side mirrors. They’re now heated to melt away snow and frost, plus Honda LaneWatch™ is standard on this trim. This feature uses a camera in your side mirrors to show you what’s in your blind spot.
Moving back to the middle, your infotainment system gets a big upgrade. It’s now a 7-inch Display Audio with electrostatic touch-screen that’s compatible with Pandora® and has an SMS text message function. Your sound system gets a boost too with 6-speakers and 180-watts.
The biggest technology add on might be staying connected with HondaLink®. Sync up your smartphone then download the app to lock, unlock, and start your engine remotely. It can even help you find your car in a crowded parking garage.
Feel free to customize the environment more in this trim too. There’s automatic climate control and heated front seats, plus a one-touch power moonroof.
On the exterior you get a little more style with black inserts on the 17-inch alloy wheels as well as more visibility from standard fog lights.
2018 Honda HR-V EX-L Navi
The 2018 Honda HR-V EX-L Navi is the final trim and it adds more features for your infotainment and interior style.
The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ comes standard with voice recognition and Honda HD Digital Traffic. For another entertainment option, there’s SiriusXM® Satellite Radio.
To give you more luxury there’s a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, plus leather-trimmed seats.
Roof rails are standard on the 2018 Honda HR-V EX-L Navi to give you more options for carrying cargo.
